About Us: Art of Touch Massage
Sandra Leiva, Massage Therapist, San Francisco, CA
I'm Sandra Leiva, founder of "Art of Touch Massage"
While working as a American Fitness Association of America (AFAA) fitness instructor I became interested in massage therapy. In 1996. I attended "Blue Cliff College" completing a 1,000 hours curriculum which included Craniosacral, Neuromuscular therapy and sports massage. After graduating, I started my practice and became a member of The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and The national certification board of therapeutic massage and bodywork (NCTMB).
I have had a successful practice for many years now, expanding into corporate events and working with several acupuncturists and chiropractors. My work is based on a combination of eastern and western modalities proven to promote good health and well-being. I keep a diverse clientele from seniors citizens to football players and other professionals, to whom I am very appreciative for their support and loyalty.
During my travels throughout Asia, I developed a great interest in the Asian outlook of health, body and mind balance, for which I am trying hard to expand my knowledge in this fascinating field. At the beginning of 2000 I attended the International Training Massage Institute (ITM) in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I completed a curriculum in Nuad Bo - Barn Thai massage I and II.
I traveled to China where I attended The China Academy of traditional Chinese Medicine and The Massage Hospital in Beijing. I also took several courses, Acupunture, Moxibustion and Tuina at the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center. This was an incredible experience! I have also completed a curriculum in Polarity balance at the Polarity balancing center, Boulder Colorado, and attended numerous workshop and seminars around the country. I have completed training in EFT (emotional freedom technique) and I am a certified clinical hypnotherapist. I have attended HCH Institute for hypnotherapy and psicho spiritual training in Lafayette, California.
I love my work! It is very rewarding to me to feel the appreciation of my clients and to know that I can make a difference in people's lives.
